Street Live Listen Again
Street Live provides an opportunity for local performers to showcase their talent and promote their music and gigs. It really is about making a connection with the enormous talent that is out there in North Devon. Artists who perform on Street Live come to the studio an perform a few acoustic tracks and also share a little about themselves and their music.

Street Live Xmas Party
Street Live celebrated in style with our Christmas party featuring so many performers including:
- Julian Langer
- Sean Heath
- Coco Read Jones
- Dave Clinch
- Jack Tipper from FND
- Sophie Littlejohns
Thank you to all the performers who gave up their time to help us celebrate on air. You can listen to the edited highlights below.
Joe (One Man Boycott) and Ben Brewer
Joe Brewer from One Man Boycott performed a session at Street Live on 11/12/14. As the entire band One Man Boycott were unable to make it, Joe was accompanied by brother Ben. Joe and Ben are longstanding friends of The Voice Street Live and have performed many times. Whenever they come to the studio you can guarantee that if nothing else it will be a fun session. Whist there on this occasion they wrote an impromptu song for my benefit and performed it live on air. As usual of course the pair were roguish in the studio, messing with the messages on the studio notice board to make rude words!! It’s always fun trying to explain that to the management!! But always a pleasure to have these guys in.
One Man Boycott are in the process of producing a new album which will be out sometime next year. They are involved so much with local music in North Devon from numerous bands including Haley’s Apparition, One Man Boycott, Benji One Lung and in the past Severe Zero. In addition to this they run a successful record label – Super Sick Records.
Joseph says he has always loved to sing but it wasn't until early this year that I sang in public for the first time. I feel alive when I perform and spend all my spare time rehearsing, performing gigs as a soloist or as part of a ban. As well as writing and co writing, Joseph performs covers from Neil Diamond, to Tony Bennett, and of course Elvis.
Joseph recently won North Devon’s The Wow Factor where he competed along side many other talented performers from North Devon.
Local band Babelfish recently performed on The Voice Street Live.
Babelfish formed in 2002, and are made up of John Hextall on sax, clarinet and English pipes. Lisa Sture on fiddle, mandolin and vocals and Chris Millington on guitar, melodeon and vocals. They are based in North Devon, Babelfish play both traditional tunes and songs from around the world as well as self penned songs.
This is a Street Live must listen
Far North District
Far North District who are, Jack, Chris, Dred, Star and Kev, came in for thier Street Live debut and from the moment of their arrival, the studio was electric. Chatting with them off air, it was clear this was going to be an amazing evening, and they did not disapoint.
Their blend of folk rock/pop was phenominal. I can honestly say that the harmonies were perhaps the tightest that I have seen is quite a while. They performed 4 songs
- Break The Chains
- There's A Light
- Universal Mind
- Sound of Your Drum
The very busy Yazzy came in for Street Live on Friday 25th April. She came in to chat about her progress through the TeenStar auditions. This is Yazzy’s second time at TeenStar, last time she reached the finals and sang at the O2 arena. We wish Yazzy all the very best with this years auditions and are confident she will do very well.
Whilst with us, Yazzy sang 3 songs
- Seeing You With Her
- All Of You (John Legend cover)
- Titanium (Sia and David Guetta cover)
You can find out more about Yazzy on her Facebook page
On Thursday 27th Sean Heath joined us for Street Live. Sean is an amazing local folk singer. He has just released a new single which is amazing. Sean will be singing also at the Chubbstock fundraising event in May, so if you like what you hear, check him out at that event.
Sean had planned to perform just 2 live tracks during the show, but I managed to persuade him also to perform his cover of Bob Dylan’s Like A Rolling Stone.
During the session then, Sean played the following songs:
- Won’t Happen Anymore
- Troubled Eyes (Not live)
- Like A Rolling Stone
