    Are you registered to vote?

    North Devon and Torridge residents are being reminded to make sure they’re ready to have their say in the 2019 general election by registering to vote.

    A snap general election is taking place across the country on Thursday 12 December, anyone aged 18 or over will be able to vote on the day, providing they are on the register of electors. Residents have until Tuesday 26 November to register to vote – it’s quick and easy to do, taking just five minutes to apply online.

    Residents only need to register to vote once but must update their details on the register if they change, this includes, when moving house or if their name changes, for example when getting married.

    The deadline to register for a postal vote is 5pm on 26 November and for a proxy vote on behalf of someone else is 5pm on 4 December.
