Come and visit Quince Honey Farm, Devon’s working honey farm and tourist attraction and enjoy daily tours and activities for all ages in all weather!
During your visit you can head to the Honey Factory for a guided tour and learn all about how bees make honey, enjoy a honey tasting session and roll your own beeswax candle. There are viewing windows into the honey production areas so you can get a close-up look at how honey is extracted from the hive and then bottled in jars ready for sale in the shop.
The Bee Shed hosts the popular Beekeeping Demos in the spring and summer months, where our team open a beehive behind protective glass and explain all about bees and beekeeping – will you spot the queen bee? During the winter when the bees become dormant, you can enjoy a fascinating talk all about honeybees, with amazing video footage of a hive. Here you will also be able to meet the farm’s collection of Curious Creatures, including stick insects and giant snails!
Let the young and the young at heart buzz around the Play Hive where you’ll find the ever-popular indoor soft play, outdoor play area and lake – a fantastic space for children and families to enjoy together. While the children are playing, the adults can enjoy a well-earned cuppa and slice of cake from the onsite café.
The centre piece for the attraction is the beautifully landscaped Nectar Gardens that can be explored and enjoyed all year round. Join a Garden Talk, wander through the hexagonal plots, each with a different theme, and take in the seasonal display of colours and textures, with all plants being bee and pollinator friendly. You will also be able to plant your own bee-friendly seed to take home with you. Children can complete the Buzzy Bee Bingo activity sheet, designed to encourage them to engage with nature and explore the gardens.
While you’re outside make sure you take a stroll along the Pollinator Path or Meadow Trail to stretch your legs and enjoy the wildflowers and countryside.
When you need a break, head back to the Visitors Centre where you’ll find the award-winning Nectary Restaurant serving up delicious home-made meals, drinks and special honey cream teas. The perfect place to relax with a cuppa while enjoying views out to the gardens and woodland. And don’t forget to browse the shop selling our seasonal honeys, beeswax candles, brand-new skincare range, gifts and local produce.
We also welcome dogs on leads to our attraction, and allow them everywhere except the indoor play area, so you can bring along all members of the family!
