Do you want to get into the exciting world of radio broadcasting?

The Voice is a community radio station that relies heavily  on local volunteers to help keep the cogs rolling in the studio, at events and in the office. So, if you're a budding  presenter, a keen marketeer, event organiser or festival enthusiast we'd love to hear from your.

Our Aim

We want to provide a truly local radio service for the community of North Devon, offering music and entertainment with details of local events, organisations and up to date information such as local news and activities within North Devon.

We also want to work with local charities and fund raising organisations in North Devon, to help them raise their profile, and to promote their activities within the community of North Devon.

There is more to radio than presenting a show, although we're always on the lookout for new presenters, either with some experience or with a desire to train and learn.

We also need lots of help working behind the scenes at The Voice - maintaining our website, production support, news reporting, promotional activities and coordinating various other activities that we're involved with.

Volunteering at The Voice could not only give you a sense of satisfaction and new experiences but also new skills and knowledge to launch into a career of your choosing. We have professionals on board that can teach you a variety of skills that could really help you stand out from the crowd. 

Presenting a show

Although radio is more than just playing music, and often the need for volunteers behind the scenes is greater than for those behind the microphone, we're always on the lookout for people interested in presenting shows. If presenting a show to your community is something which interests you, or perhaps you have some specific programme ideas, get in touch and we can provide presenter training and mentoring if you are interested.

Local News and Sports

If you're interested in local news, news reading/reporting, interviewing or sport, then why not get involved with The Voice.

We're currently looking for news readers, reporters and sports contributors,  to help with our local news bulletins each day. Getting involved with the news team offers great opportunities.

Community reporters / Ambassadors

We're looking for a team of volunteers who can help co-ordinate information about what's going on in the many communities across North Devon, which we can use across various shows.

Event and Street Teams

We need bright bubbly people to join our promotions team at The Voice.

Attend events across North Devon, such as Carnivals, fairs, fetes... in fact any community event

Help out your local station by giving out leaflets in supermarkets, standing in busy town centre's giving out car stickers or walking around the streets of North Devon popping leaflets in doors.

You must be a bubbly happy person, outgoing and game for a laugh. Promotions can be fun, can involve you dressing in costume and even getting up to madcap antics. Who knows what the next phase of our awareness campaign may involve!!
