Following on from the success of last few year, The Toy Appeal and stocking filler is back. 

Each year we are staggered by the huge levels of generosity and support given to our appeal from the people of North Devon.   All the toys collected from the Toy Appeal will go to children in North Devon that need them most, through various charity organisations.

This years' Toy Appeal is supported by NHS Devon - Think Pharmacy First.

Think Pharmacy First for treatment for seven common conditions, without needing to see your GP.

NHS Devon is asking people to 'Think Pharmacy First' and to visit your local pharmacy for fast, expert treatment for seven common ailments such as sore throats and sinusitis this winter. Nearly all pharmacies across Devon can provide advice, treatment, and over-the-counter medications, and in some case prescription medicines, without the need to see a GP.

Under the Pharmacy First service, trained pharmacists can provide consultations, treatments and where necessary prescription medication for a range of conditions, including:

Impetigo, infected insect bites, earache, sore throat (aged 5 years and over), sinusitis (aged 12 years and over), urinary tract infections (women aged 16 to 64 years) and shingles (aged 18 years and over).

Patients can still choose to visit a GP if they wish to. Pharmacy First offers alternative access to expert treatment from highly trained professionals in your local pharmacy.
